- JOURNEy -

I have been taking pictures since I had my first camera, at fifteen. Since then, my camera has been part of me, part of my body, like a third eye - the intuitive one I guess. I could never explain why and what I took pictures of. Neither have I really been looking for anything particular to photograph. It's an impulse, a sudden and visceral urge to capture an emotion, a feeling, a perception - simple moments of life in all their essence and intensity - no matter the subject, no matter the result.
The photographs presented here are extracted from my first auto-edited book journey. They have been taken during the last ten years, here and there, throughout my wanderings across the world, with a medium format film camera (Rolleicord). Most of them have only been processed or developed lately. That's when I started to "discover" them.
During this discovery, I came to realize that my photographs were a medium for my subconscious to express itself. They depict less what is around me than what animates me inside, before I can even make sense of it. In a way, they hold the keys and answers to most of the "metaphysical" questionings I have about this journey, called life.

Journey is an invitation to an introspective path throughout time and continents, sort of initiatory quest and inner evolution : a path towards oneself.
