in distant vicinity

It started with a simple photographic test, but it soon became a distraction, a habit, a new fascination to capture those moments suspended in time where individuals are so close yet so distant, presents but really absents, together but finally truly alone.

There is no such paradoxical place as the Parisian subway, this timeless place where a strange mix of distance and proximity takes place, where boundaries are finally not where we imagine they are. As they are not on a physical, social or cultural level, but rather on a more mental and individual one.
